BBA in Accounting

About the Program

The BBA in accounting program prepares students for successful professional careers in the accounting field. Accounting graduates work in corporations, non-profits and public entities in the areas of financial analysis, investments, treasury, controller functions, budgeting and forecasting, and audit. With additional courses, students will be able to get professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, CITP, and many others.

Curriculum

The BBA in Accounting is a 120 semester-hour program. The program builds upon a business core curriculum which includes principles of accounting. The advanced courses provide in-depth knowledge in accounting and financial reporting of a business entity (see Catalog for details).

Employment Outlook: According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the growth rate for accounting and auditing jobs for the 2016-26 period is 20 percent. The median annual wage for accountants and auditors was $73,560 in May 2020.
